It is mandatory for everyone (regardless of vaccination status) to take a PCR/Rapid test no more than 3 days before boarding your flight to Jamaica. For latest information on travel guidelines, refer to the travel advisory from Jamaica at: https://www.visitjamaica.com/travelauthorization/ .

A PCR/Rapid test will be done on arrival and you should be prepared to wait in quarantine till your test report comes. Your vaccination status and PCR/Rapid test results will determine your quarantine period.

Fully-vaccinated travellers
To be considered fully vaccinated, at least two weeks should have elapsed since the second vaccine dosage. You will get your PCR/Rapid test report in 2 hours. If report is negative then quarantine will end immediately. If positive, then quarantine will be 14 days followed by a repeat Covid-19 test.

Partially-vaccinated/non-vaccinated travelers
You will get your PCR/Rapid test report in 2 hours. If negative then quarantine will end after 7 days from arrival. If positive, then quarantine will be for 14 days followed by a repeat PCR/Rapid test.

According to the WHO, those who have co-morbidities are more at risk of contracting Covid-19. Such people should be fully vaccinated as early as possible. However, a fully vaccinated person can still be at risk therefore precautions are a must and all Covid-19 protocol should be strictly observed at all times.

In keeping with the guidelines of the country’s Ministry of Health, the management at BIMS has worked diligently to ensure that strict Covid-19 protocol is followed. Measures taken include:

  • Restricted entry to non-BIMS visitors

  • Easy access for students to Covid-19 guidelines and updates
Yes, all students will have to be fully vaccinated unless otherwise specified for medical reasons in which case supportive documents should be presented. Non-vaccinated students will not be allowed to attend classes. Family members who accompany you will also have to be fully vaccinated.
